MERCURY:
What do we know about this small planet that revolves around the Sun in a speedy way, taking only 88 days to complete a revolution?
Thus, it takes 88 days to walk through our astrology chart… one day is in one sign and a few days later, oops! It already has changed to the next sign!
Mercury is considered to be a personal planet because it is related to our concrete mind and its tasks about our communication abilities and skills, gathering information and curiosity. It is also related to the concepts of oratory, poetry, magic, alchemy and literature.
It was named after the Roman god Mercury, a version of the Greek god Hermes.
He is mischievous and playful, sometimes deceptive, god of the travelers and thieves alike.
But there is more…
Because Hermes was able to guide deceased souls to the afterlife and move back and forth between the human world and the divine world, or the Cosmic world that exists beyond our physical senses. Meaning that our concrete minds, or rational minds, are not attached to the physical 3D reality where we live but are able to open and connect with our Cosmic Mind/Soul. He is the walker between worlds, the shape-shifter and story-teller.
And he is conscious of the power of the words: they can be uplifting and comforting, helping us to feel at peace, or can deceive, instigate and distract us, triggering fears, guilt or frustration. And words are very important. Both, the ones we say out aloud and the ones we don’t say but keep for ourselves and stay within our minds as thoughts. Because words and thoughts are energy patterns that shape our reality and the ones around us. And this is the magic and alchemy of words…
Are we also walkers between worlds?
Can we communicate with other non-physical beings?
For example, using telepathy. Because telepathy is a gift we have within that enables us to connect and communicate with every being, human and non human. From our mind/heart to his/her. Being it a plant, tree, animal or a non-physical one that lives in another reality/dimension.
As a shapeshifter, Mercury enables us to use our words and curiosity in any energy spectrum we choose. But also it is about the ability to change the way we communicate or seek information.
We can say “It is the way I speak!”, “I’m not able to connect with my Cosmic Mind/Soul!”, “Telepathy is impossible for me!”, “I cannot connect with my inner voice”.
But is it true?
Because if Mercury is a shapeshifter, so are we in the sense of the realm of communication it represents related to the throat chakra. And we can change, if we want, the way we communicate with ourselves and convey and express our feelings, thoughts and Higher Self. Affecting also our DNA... but this would be a topic for another article.
As words are energies (a sound with intention/emotion, direction and movement) they are kept alive in our energy field/inside and within the people we directed them. They also can be kept alive through time, being part of the collective unconsciousness, affecting not only the past when we spoke them, but also the present. That's why it is important to be aware of the effects that words can make and be careful before speaking.
I remember some years ago when I entered some places and I still felt the words spoken, maybe decades or centuries ago, reverberating in the walls as if the place was enchanted in some way, being it in a positive or negative way. And they were superposing people's conversations.
Since Sedna entered the sign of Gemini, where my Mercury retrograde is sitting in the 11th house, I have experienced a big transmutational change in my ability to connect with non physical beings that are from other realities and dimensions.
My Mercury retrograde also gives me the ability to communicate with my entire being easily, but also being shy or a tendency to listen to others instead of speaking, and the tendency to find the words I want to convey inside me before saying them aloud. From now on, until it will move forward through Gemini, Sedna gives me a new spiritual quest related to Mercury, awakening communication abilities that until now were dormant or not used enough and the ability to explore new realms (inner and outer). And perhaps, it also opens a door to reach more people out there and impact them through my voice.
As Uranus is moving toward Gemini, and already conjunct to my Mercury, it adds its unique energies to my Mercury, helping me to change the way I communicate to myself and to the entire Cosmos. Even changing where some of my interests are. But mostly encouraging me to speak aloud of unconventional topics without feeling out of place or weird.
A Mercury retrograde, although people tend to speak of it badly, enables us to go within and revisit and review our past easily as a way to understand better parts of it and heal what we have left behind. It marks a time of reflection (in my case, all my life is a reflection!).
Because a retrograde Mercury is no longer within the confines of linear time and opens us into the realm of the eternal present, where all coexists simultaneously.
And when Mercury is placed in Gemini or Virgo (the signs where he rules) it can be expressed with its highest frequency possible.
As Uranus is moving toward Gemini, and already conjunct to my Mercury, it adds its unique energies to my Mercury, helping me to change the way I communicate to myself and to the entire Cosmos. Even changing where some of my interests are.
